Comments (0) I am buying a hdtv for the family room. 32″ big enough?advice would be appreciated?
I am about to buy a tv for my family because i got a bonus and was wondering if i should get a 32″ or a 37″ for the family room. The room isn’t too large and the couch is about 8-9ft from the tv. I was thinking of getting this one Samsung-LN37A450-37-Inch-720p
But I’m not sure if I will regret getting the 450 model instead of the new 550

Which is 1080p while the 450 is only 720p
Should i just pay more for the newer model since it offers a higher resolution? Informed advice would be greatly appreciated.

From personal experience,I’d say a 42″ to 46″ is right, and 37″ is borderline too small. I have a 50″ at 9.75 feet and I wish I could get a foot or two back for better viewing.
In 37″, 42″, or 46″, IMHO your very best bet, dollar for dollar, for BOTH the best performance and reliability, is the Panasonic Viera plasma! If, however, you for some reason need an LCD, the best brand for 37″ and up, again BOTH for performance and reliability, is Sony followed by Toshiba and then Sharp and Samsung. Good hunting!
