How do you think the country would cope if all the immigrants got up and left?

So, what would our nation be like if ALL the immigrants left?
I doubt it. Some immigrant jobs would be filled, yes. But many more would not. Nobody (immigrant or not) wants to pull potatoes in a gale in the middle of february in a one horse town in lincolnshire unless they a) will starve if they don’t (which the minimum wage has seen to) or b) will earn what they feel is a good wage. Minimum wage is not a lot to British people, but it is nigh on a fortune for many people.
This goes for many jobs – including nurses. Nurses are severely overworked and underpaid, and many (due to nurses agencies being the primary source, not being directly employed) don’t have job security.
Then of course we have the problem of skill gaps. There are huge numbers of foreign workers in the NHS (and other industries, like plumbers) – when was the last time you saw a British dentist?!
