Registering for baby #1…warm vs. cool mist humidifiers? What did your pediatrician say?

Hi everyone. My husband and I are expecting our first child, and we are about to register at Babies R Us. There are some things I am researching reviews ahead of time because I know their is a vast difference in product quality. One of those things is a humidifier. I found one that has great reviews and is reasonably priced, but it is a warm mist and it seems like all the others are cool mist. I tried to Google nursery humidifiers and see why most are cool mist, but all I could find is that cool mist reduces the chance of scalding. However, how humidifier is going to be kept on top of a bookcase, so little hands getting in the way of the mist isn’t a concern for us. Are there any other reasons to get a cool mist over a warm mist? What are the benefits of each? Thanks for helping a first time mom!

They both work just fine. If you get a warm, put it up high so it can’t burn your baby once he is moving around. Here are pros and cons of both
