Product Review Kinoki Foot Pads

Is there any science behind ultrasonic anti-pest devices?

I have two plug-in gadgets made by Black & Decker that supposedly repel rodents and insects with high frequency sound. I want to know if there is any solid science behind these claims. Like an actual peer reviewed study or something substantial. I tried emailing an entomologist to ask, but he must have laughed at my email and deleted it. I know enough about science to spot most bogus products (like kinoki foot pads, colon cleansers, penis growth pills, etc.) but I just can’t get a handle on this one. Haven’t had luck finding a study or a good article on the subject. Thanks.
