Product Review Kodak Easyshare
Can someone help me with my camera memory card?
I have a Kodak EasyShare C743 with a PNY Technologies 1G memory card.
When I tried to download my most recent pictures, things weren’t working. I could review the pictures on the camera, but when I tried to download them, none were found.
I tried downloading new software (I was using an Adobe product, so I went and downloaded the Kodak software), but that didn’t work.
Finally, I took the memory card out to get a look at it (there are no pictures saved on the camera itself). When I inserted it back in, the camera wanted me to format it (which I did not do) and told me that I had no pictures.
Is there any hope to recover the pictures on my memory card? If I get a card reader, would that work? Does anyone have any other advice?
Thanks!
First of all, photos should always be downloaded immediately and then backed up.
You should not be storing photos on a memory card.
It doesn’t happen very often, but memory cards can and do fail.
When you simply delete (instead of format), it can cause errors on the card.
Regularly formatting them in the camera helps to prevent problems.
For now, try a USB card reader in the hope that you can get the photos off, then remember the rules for the future.
If you can’t get them off, google for some image recovery programs. There are plenty of them out there, but strangely enough not everyone seems to always work, sometimes it takes several programs to get the photos back, but you should have a reasonable chance of getting at least most of them back.
Good luck!
