Product Review Washers
A dilemna i have about privacy software all answers welcome?
I decided to buy privacy software for obvious reasons, with all fraud and such things going on these days.
So i read some reviews and a software by the name of Evidence eliminator came top with window washer and cyber scrub coming in 2nd and third. I also read on here that there was a review in The Times.
So i bought EE but after reading things about their scare tactic marketing, iam not too sure i want to have this on my computer.
The name of the software is a bit dubious and i dont have anything bad i wish to hide.
I have downloaded the product but have yet to put the codes in to activate it and start using it.
Should i use the software or just put it down to a mistake and carry on as i have before without any privacy software. Have you used any privacy software?
I have used EE for 7 years before I heard about the phony ads they supposedly post online. I have never had any real problem with the software but I might add that their claims are not always true. For instance, after running it, it is supposed to have removed (permanently) all internet explorer cookies for example. So right after I run EE I run a program called regseeker and it finds all the cookies that EE supposedly just permanently deleted along with several other history related items that EE claimed to have deleted and not just occasionally but always! I do know that Robinhood Software (which owns EE) is a small two-man operation(both unemployed British programmers) and they are extremely hard to contact. When you do get to their support site they use harsh language to communicate with their customers and they project the notion that “This Better Be Damned Important” cause we don’t have the time to BS with idiots. Also the license is supposed to be for life. Well, in late 09 I had a critical system failure and had to reformat my machine. When I did I lost the saved registration codes for my EE and I am yet to get a copy of my codes back from Robinhood. In fact they have never responded at all even after I explained in detail my reasons for seeking a duplicate code. and I have written to them 20 times at least. So I no longer am able to use the software. I think the name of their company is quite appropriate because THEY rob from the rich and give to themselves. And I’m not even rich!!
