Comparison on hair products?

I’m wondering if Sebastian Xtah Raw Hair Crude Clay modeler is similar to Bed Head’s Manipulator? I’m wanting a thick molding product. I have long hair but I want something (other than pomade) to give me the textured and piecey look when I curl my hair w/ my flat iron to give it waves. Something that will hold, have a matte finish, & not look greasy. Which would you recommend? I can get one slightly cheaper than the other so if they’re pretty much the same consistency and finish wise I’ll go with that one. I know Sebastian’s is a lot thicker, but Bed Head’s is still pretty thick. I’ve never personally worked w/ either of these products… just have read reviews and I’ve felt a little bit of Manipulator’s consistency at a salon browsing around. Is there another product all together that would work just as good or better? What do you recommend?

The best thing I have ever used to get natural waves without looking greasy is a product by Garnier. It comes in the small, round, green container and I think it is called beach waves. It is a waxy pomade type product, and simply putting a dab on your finger and then twirling your hair to make the the wave works pretty well.
