Is a Waterpik/Water Pik worth it? Braces? Oral-B Electric Toothbrush?

I’m getting the Oral-B SmartSeries 5000 toothbrush for Christmas. I really want to take better care of my teeth. I’m also getting braces on January 13th. I’ve heard that Waterpiks really help. What is your opinion? If worth it, which model? I’ve heard great reviews and lots of horrible reviews. Don’t want to spend $50 on a product that isn’t worth it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance, and I do choose best answers.

I don’t know about the Oral SmartSeries 5000, but Waterpiks do help! It’s real hard to try and get the floss between your teeth once you’ve got braces. It is worth it; I have it! It just splashes a lot so you just have to wipe down your mirror every time you finish. I have the Waterpik ultra, the one with 6 tips. Oh, and when you’ve got braces, eat right after. It starts to get sore after a few hours, so be careful.
