VGA to S-Video Adapter Problems?
I recently bought a VGA to S-video adapter to connect my ASUS Eee PC 1005HAB computer to my HDTV. Here are the specs for the computer:

When I simply connect the S-Video cable between another laptop and the TV, it works fine, so I know the TV will allow the signal. This is the adapter I bought:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Y7T5UU/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000P3UB24&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0YHFE6YS1BSEJAHG2WWV
Is there some sort of driver that I’m missing that is preventing the adapter from working? As far as I can tell, the laptop has the capability for output to the TV. Has anyone had a similar problem?
Sorry, but you wasted your money.
Those VGA-to-S-video adapters will only work with video cards that have a specially-built VGA port that can also send out an S-video signal. It will NOT work with just any VGA port.
Your EeePC does not have one of those specially-built VGA ports, which is why that adapter will NEVER work.
If your EeePC had one of those special VGA ports, that adapter would have come included.
It’s right there in the product description for that adapter at that Amazon page you linked to: ” Note: Your VGA card must support TV out directly through VGA port function. Please consult with your VGA card’s user manual for more information.”
