From the link it appears that you have a VGA output on your laptop and HDMI and component input on you TV. For HDMI you will need a converter. For Component you should just need an adapter.
Please verify your connections. Check to see wnat you have and what is available.
This is an example of a VGA output: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/cc/VGA_port.jpg
This is an HDMI input: http://www.hometheatermag.com/images/archivesart/1105hook.15.jpg
This is componenet input: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/images/compins.gif
Also double check your TV for a VGA input: http://tech2.in.com/media/images/2007/Jul/img_13382_samsung_42_plas_04.jpg
If it has this you need no converter you just need to run a VGA cable and another cable for sound.
One option VGA to RCA Component + Audio: This will be the cheapest option.

I cannot vouch for the quality of these specific items.
Once you connect everything, find the function button on your laptop to switch to external monitor. You may have to change the resolution and/or refresh rate on your laptop. You also need to set the TVs input to the appropriate input.
