What’s the bad CATGENIE odor everyone describes?

reviews say the odor during the drying process makes the room smell bad for 1/2 hour.
But smell like what?… a cat toilet or chemicals- what kind of smell would i be putting up with?

Sorry, but I do not have any bad odors from the CatGenie, and I have not heard of any bad odors.
