Do I need permission from a business to review their products on my website?

I’m thinking of starting a website dedicated to reviewing all sorts of things. From Video Games, Books, and Movies to restaurants and hotels. Are there any legal ramifications if I publish these reviews on my website without the permission of the company who produces or owns what I am reviewing?
